My rating: 4 of 5 starsAll Dressed Up by Lucy Hepburn is a Diversion Books publication and was released in August 2013. I received a DRC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Molly is on her way to Italy for her sister, Caitlyn's, wedding. With a romantic stop in Paris, Molly is sure her long time boyfriend, Reggie, is about to propose. Instead, he breaks up with her, leaving her alone in Paris while he jets back to the U.S. for his big break as an actor. Before Molly can digest what just happened, her sister calls in tears. Her dress will not arrive until the day of the wedding. So, Molly volunteers to pick the dress up for her on her way to Venice. Caitlyn's unspoken wariness at that idea has Molly remembering a whole lot of past hurts. Caitlyn thinks Molly will damage the dress or screw up somehow. So, already feeling defensive, Molly becomes a nervous wreck when she arrives to retrieve the dress and it's not there. Once located, the designer's assistant, Pascal, is assigned to accompany Molly and the dress to Venice for a personal fitting. On the plane Molly meets a nice guy named Simon. The two get off to a rocky start when Simon disses the fashion industry, which just happens to be Molly's career and passion. But, when the plane has to make an unexpected landing and Molly winds up stranded with Simon and Pascal, and the dress makes yet another detour, the three of them get to know each other a little better. This book is hilarious. The dress goes through so many obstacles it's insane. Simon just wants to get to Venice, but gets caught up in Molly and Pascal's dramas. So much so, that even though it goes against his personal principles regarding the fashion industry, he will do anything for Molly and that ridiculous wedding dress everyone is so hung up on. All these issues has Molly behaving like a bridezilla herself. She desperately wants her sister to have the wedding of her dreams, despite her personal reservations about the marriage and her jealousy over Caitlyn's close relationship with their mother. When Molly meets up with her mother she finally has the chance to get some of these things off her chest. But, a really serious situation develops that has Caitlyn and Molly realizing that there are more important things than big weddings and designer dresses. While Caitlyn still gets her happy ever after, what about Molly? Is there a future with Simon or will Reggie have a change of heart? This book had the perfect blend of romance, comedy, and drama. Nothing was over done. It came out just right. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves romantic comedies, chick lit, and contemporary romance. This was a really fun book that deserves an A.

All Dressed Up (Audible Audio Edition) Lucy Hepburn Gemma Dawson Audible Studios Books Reviews

All Dressed Up also known as the The Great Wedding Dress Caper, is an absolute thrill ride made up of quirky characters, madcap detours, laughter and family. Its about fulfilling your dreams and the road (or wrong turn) you take to get there. Molly Wright, is in the city of Paris, a dream come true for a fashion design graduate like her. Along with her long time boyfriend, they were on their way to attend her sister's celebrity wedding in Italy. Paris was supposed to be something special. Instead Molly has been dumped, is alone and oh yes, has found herself agreeing to bring her sister's wedding dress to Venice. No one can say "No" to Bridezilla. The dress, made by the famous designer Delametri Chevalier, was picked up and along with Pascal, Chevalier's assistant, they were on their way. Well it wasn't really that simple. There were several detours, mishaps, and overall hilarious events along the way.
This book was highly entertaining and funny! I love Pascal! The writing was vivid, both with the description of the background and the characters themselves. If emotions could be visualized, Lucy Hepburn has succeeded in doing so thru her words. This book is definitely more plot driven but the characters themselves were all memorable. Overall, All Dressed Up was a funny, insightful and heartwarming novel.
After reading and enjoying, "2 Busy 4 Love", I threw myself on this novel. I expected a lot especially some great and fun romance...
If I've found a good dose of humor in the disasters following the wedding dress given to Molly, I also found lengths in the events. There are too many disturbing events that take places. The situations and the scenrio seem improbable. Especially, at the Sion's airport ...
However, the characters are real gems. A mixture of stereotypes, affectionately proposed, that delight the reader. Lucy Hepburn knows how to fill of sparks and life her characters to make them touching and endearing.
I also enjoyed the way the author mixes family dynamics and serious issues in her adventures.
As for the familly bonds, if this was a treat, as touching as frustrating, in "2 Busy 4 Love" in this tale, I really wanted to strangle the bride for her lack of respect for her sister.
If at the beginning the Bridezilla act is fun, in the end I just wanted to slap her ... Not a good sign if you want to attack a fictional character! Lol!
Fortunately, Caitlin becomes human again after arriving in Bologna.
As for the love story with Simon, the fact that Molly has just been dumped by Reggie makes the scenario less romantic. Even if you feel the attraction.
But, Simon is a treat. He is a hero of modern times, a great gentleman, I would have liked more tender moments between the two heros. And Pascal and Sasha were awesome too!
The story is interesting and tender, but I had the impression that the author had tried too hard.
However, there are so many twists and turns that you do not get bored and the characters are delicious.
A romance a little too much but super cute. You will have a entertaining reading time...
